PROJECT PLAN
"Bee Brave!" is a collaborative eTwinning project for primary school pupils, 7-12 years old, centered around a brave little bee who must overcome challenges caused by pollution, habitat loss, and natural dangers on her journey back to the hive. Along the way, she learns the importance of friendship, biodiversity, and working together to protect the planet.
Through storytelling, drawings, games, and creative digital tools, students will work in international teams to co-create the bee’s adventure. The project integrates environmental education, creativity, and digital and language skills in a joyful and meaningful way.
Aims:
-Raise awareness about the importance of bees and the protection of the environment.
-Develop creativity through storytelling, illustration, and crafts.
- Improve language and communication skills in an international setting.
-Learn to use digital tools safely and creatively.
-Foster collaboration and teamwork across countries.
CALENDAR
September – October:
-Pupils and teachers introduce themselves.
-Schools share short presentations about their environment and local biodiversity.
-Pupils reflect on the importance of bees in nature.
-Collaborative creation and voting of the project logo.
-eSafety activities and rules for working together online.
November:
- Pupils describe and illustrate a brave bee character in national teams.
– vote to choose one main bee hero for the adventure.
December – March:
International groups are created, each with a different mission:
▪Writers: Create episodes of the adventure story (Bee faces dangers and discovers values like courage, cooperation, responsibility…).
▪Illustrators: Create images for each story episode (or comics)
▪Musicians: Invent short soundscapes (buzzing, rain, danger, calm…) or a musical theme for the Bee.
▪Engineers: Design bee-friendly spaces (gardens, hives, cities…) using recycled or digital materials.
▪Scientists: Create short videos or posters to explain problems bees face (pollution, pesticides, climate change…).
▪Journalists: Report on each month’s progress
All stories and contributions are collected in one tool.
April – May:
Pupils collaborate to create a "Goose Game":
- Each partner school designs several game squares, with challenges based on the story.
- Obstacles, questions, and values are included to recap the bee’s journey.
- Game is shared digitally and/or printed for classroom use.
Pedagogical approach:
The project promotes cross-curricular learning (science, art, languages, digital competence, citizenship) and active learning strategies such as role-playing, creative storytelling, cooperative tasks, and reflection.
