In this module you are going to:

  • discuss whether animals have rights or not.
  • read an article entitled "scientists told to stop wasting animal lives" and do comprehension activities
  • learn vocabulary relevant to animal rights
  • study passive voice
  • write a summary of a text about Animals on Factory Farms
  • watch a video and discuss the idea of de-extinction
  • make a mindmap with five reasons why keeping animals in captivity is wrong.
  • choose an endangered species to make a donation for and explain the reasons of your choice.
  • take part in a debate about animal-testing experiments.
  • write an essay for the school magazine to express your opinion about whether animal-testing experiments are ethical or not.

Let's explore Vincent Van Gogh's lonesome life and influential art.

What does duty mean to you? How does it define the way we work and function in our everyday life? Do people set duty above everything else? Could people die on duty or because of duty?

Let's ponder over what people do out of duty and how determined they are even to die for the sake of others. 

On duty... then with people on duty!

 

Why is Tilos called Europe's friendliest island? Who have they islanders welcomed with open arms? What has made the island "a dreamland?

These are only some of the questions that will be answered throughout module 2 "A refugee's dreamland"

Would you choose a dangerous job and would you ever risk your life for others?

Let's read the stories of some ordinary people who did risk their lives for the sake of others.
