Students 9 to 14 will explore the Solar System and their emotions.

Units

1) The project is presented to students on page 1.1.

2) Students are invited to TwinSpace: we can create a class account or an account for each student

username: skiathos.2024

password: etwinningskiathos

3)  They play the e-safety quiz on page 4.3

4) They complete the pre-survey for students

5) They introduce themselves on page 2.3: a  bracelet is found with the picture of the Sun and  this mysterious inscription: " When you are sad, look at the sky: there are endless worlds out there".

Students write a short presentation of themselves and they add a few words about the mysterious inscription. What does it mean? What adventures are being prepared in the sky? They create a bracelet with the Sun  and the inscription, and the photo is uploaded next to their presentation.

6) They create a collaborative logo on page 5

Deadline for all the tasks: October 31st

Deadline for the pre-survey for students: October 20th

7) The week from 4th to 10th October 2024 is the European Space Week and we would like to mark this special occasion by creating a Mentimeter on the theme of space.

Space is one of the topics of our project.

This mentimeter will be a nice way in order to involve students in the project.

Each school will add 1 word to the mentimeter.

  HOW TO DO THE TASK

Write your name, school, country on the presentation next to the planet about which you want to write or which you want to draw.

Two or three schools can write information about the same planet.

Another school draws the planet.

Students read the information written by other schools in the presentation.

Then they add a few sentences about the planet

Students work in transnational teams.

Each team has the Mission to explore a specific planet. During their missions, each team discovers a new Bracelet on their respective planets.

Each bracelet represents a different value such as courage, empathy, teamwork, or resilience. Collecting these bracelets is crucial for solving the mysteries of the planets and advancing their journey.

In each team a group describes  a character who lives on the planet and who has some features that recall  that planet.

A group draws the character.

A group writes a text about an adventure on the planet.

The adventure is hard and dangerous. A group creates a picture for the text.

A group creates the bracelet.

Finally, we collect the work in a book/ presentation.

HOW TO CHOOSE A TEAM

Choose two different planets.

-For the first planet choose a single task (on the table below, a task marked  with "1 school").

-For the other planet choose a collaborative task (on the table below,  a task marked  with "2 schools").

Notice please that:

- For the character description the deadline is January 15th

-For the  character drawing the deadline is January 31st

-For the collaborative adventure text, one part of the story will be written by one school, and the remaining part by the other.

Deadline: February 20th

second part: March 11th

- For the drawing of the adventure the deadline is March 31st

-For the collaborative quiz, the two schools will work in pairs: they will agree on a tool (such as LearningApps, Quizizz, Nearpod, etc.), with the first school creating the quiz and adding the first 5 questions, and the second school adding 5 more questions.

Deadline: March 31st

Each school is assigned 2 planets and 2 tasks

Skiathos team: Mars (character drawing) + Jupiter (quiz)

Missions to the planets and the Sun: students work in transnational teams.

A group writes a text about an adventure on the planet. The adventure is hard and dangerous. A group creates a picture for the text. A group creates the bracelet.

Finally, we collect the work in a book/ presentation.

  1. A group of students create a virtual Escape Room for their own planet  in order to be able to leave the planet and to continue the exploration.

They create a quiz with questions about the planet: who wants to leave the planet must solve the quiz, answer the question and so on.

We collect these games in a Genially map of the Solar System (a tag for each planet's Escape Room).
